Catherine and Liz photographed our wedding in North Wales. When searching for a photographer we were so disheartened by the websites of so many companies, which seemed to feature pictures that were either cold and lacking in personality or were more about the photographer’s own skill/creativity/ability to use Photoshop than about the subject matter of the photos themselves. It wasn’t until we happened upon Celebrations in Focus that we felt we could end up with the photos we wanted – a genuine record of the warmth, fun and love of a day shared with the people we love. Catherine and Liz made the whole experience fun and comfortable. The pre-wedding shoot put us at our ease in what is, unless you are a model used to being in front of a camera, a wholly peculiar situation. Something we particularly appreciated was that they did not put the ‘hard sell’ on us for albums etc. We were clear from the outset that all we wanted was the disc of photos and they respected that. We enjoyed the afternoon we spent with them in Shrewsbury Park and came away feeling like we had made the right choice. On the wedding day itself, they were so genuine with our guests and had just the right mix of assertive and friendly when trying to shepherd wayward folk more interested in the bar than being photographed! As for the shots of us, we have some truly beautiful photos, full of laughter and love. Having two photographers, wasn’t something we set out to do but it proved a brilliant idea. It meant that my husband and I could both be photographed getting ready and that during the rest of the day the same moment was often captured from two perspectives. In terms of the getting ready shots, having female photographers also meant I was at ease wandering around in a bath robe! Some of my favourite shots are from this part of the day, when I was laughing with my bridesmaids and my mum. I think it is testament to the pictures that Liz and Catherine took that, at the moment, seven weeks after the day, I can’t look at them, because they capture it all so perfectly that they make me sad it will never happen again! However, I know this will pass and we are so grateful for the record of what was genuinely the best day of our lives that we can enjoy forever.
